It's Albert's World. We just live in it.

Read the article at the following link. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7318567

Write a comment about the main idea. What tools mentioned in the article do you use daily? How important was Albert Einstein's curiousity/ Scientific experimentation?

How was Einstein like Thomas Edison, who was quoted as saying "I haven't failed 10,00 times, I've found 10,00 ways that won't work."?

DO NOT be redundant. If someone else has said it already, then SAY SOMETHING ELSE!

  1. It is easy to take for granted objects that came to be because of the diligence of historic scientists. Even toothpaste is the result of many experimental revisions. I can't imagine what the first tubes on the shelf at the local drug store were like. Ick. Einstein and Edison knew that everything they tried wouldn't be perfect the first time, but they didn't give up. Thanks to them, we live a world that has many conveniences and assistive devices. Way to go Einstein and Edison!

  2. Wow i really didnt know how many things Albert Einstein invented! Just imagine a world without alarm clocks. Everybody would be late and life would be chaotic. Some people might have to catch a train to New York at 6:30 but they wake up too late. You can mess up a whole day without a alarm clock. Without some of Einstein and Edison's inventions we would be much less technologically advanced.

  3. Many things Albert Einstein discoverd helps us to use the technology we have today. We use cell phones, computers and many more things. His scientific experimentation allows us to have the technology he helped us devolop. He didn't fail the experiments but he just found things that couldn't be used yet due to their limited technology. Thanks to Einstein we are able to communicate with each other or to use computers to look up information and things we don't know about.

  4. Albert Einstein discovered many things that help people today. By using his formula to measure particles of liquids, scientist were able to improve other products also. Einstein's experiment is very important, because without his curiosity we wouldnt have the things we have now. Einstein was like Thomas Jefferson because he didnt think of his discoveries as a failure. He thought of them as something that wasn't right, and he began to experiment with something else. Some things that were mentioned that I use daily are my cellphone, an alarm clock, and a tv. I have Einstein to thank for that because without them i would be disorganized and bored.

  5. Albert Einstein created the alarm clock, better toothpastes, better shaving cremes so you don'tcut yourself, television cameras to check traffic for morning commute, cell phones, and computers. Without the luxury of using all these things we use everyday, the world be be very different. Without Albert Einstein, communication would be much more difficult and without computers, I wouldn't be able to do this blog right now. Einstein made a huge impact on the world and without him, we wouldn't be where we are today.

  6. Albert Einstein developed many theories, these simple theories led to many great inventions, which in turn make our lives much easier. We use GPS in our cars, and everyday transport trucks use them to ship good across the country. Also, Americans rely highly on self updating satellite clocks so that they can prepare themselves for the day. Without Einstein's effects of relativity GPS would be meaningless. If Einstein hadn't pushed himself, to challenge and experiment, we might not have the technology that we have today. Einstein like Edison realized that he had to bounce back from his failures, learn from them, and try again. This is why he excelled as an inventor, and gained respect today.

  7. Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison approached the world with child like curiousity and marval. They searched for anwsers for the movements and compositions that our world is made of. Their discoveries have increased our health, our ability to build efficient homes, and to provide power for our homes and businesses.

  8. Albert Einstein did more than I expected. As I began to think about the uniqueness of the remote controls that operate the television from the couch, it only makes me think of how brilliant this man truly was. He perfected television, cell phones, mostly the electronics many of us aren’t away from for more than a day. With his trial and error, and continuous interest into finding new ways, shows the impact he has given our world through communication, alertness, and entertainment. He also has started something that other designers can perfect as well. With such a resemblance to Thomas Edison, Einstein never failed. He says he only found the ways of things that did not work. In saying this, he basically means he only discovered a new path to further elaborate and understand a better solution.

  9. Albert Einstein might have been one of the smartest person who has ever lived. Einstein came up some of the most important theories and inventions that has changed our world forever. Without his curiousity he would never had experimented with different theories. Of the many inventions each has pros and cons but we can't go threw the day without them. GPS is one of his genius inventions, many of us can't travel anywhere without using GPS to tell us where to go. We would be no where with out Albert Edison.

  10. Albert Einstein had the greatest mind of the 19th century and his ideas led up to things we use everyday. If he hadn't have lived when he did we might not have all of the science breakthrough we have today. I use all of the devices that were listed in the article and I dont know what i could do without them. If he would have lived in the 20th century scientist say that he might not have gotten as much attention as he did back then. We are truely lucky this man tried "10,000 times, and failed 10,000 time" because without his strong persistence we might not have the everyday things we are so fortunate to have today.

  11. Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison brought some very unique ideas to our world today. Einstein was one of the smartest people in the world much less smartest scientest. Einstein invented the light bulb for lights in your house or in your headlights of your car or any where like that. So look at it this way if it werent for Albert Einstein we could not drive cars at night and we would have a very dark home. He may have had some crazy hair but he was a very smart guy.

  12. Today we live life without thinking back to the people who have gotten us to where we are today. To of those people, I mean scientist are Albert Einstein and Thomas Jefferson. Albert created the famous formula E=mc2 whigh is used in physics and to create an atomic bomb, which can lead to destruction if used to make one. Thomas was an inventor he created many things like: Light bulb, and improved the telegraph with much more. Alebert and Thomas both tried until they succeeded, which is a life long lesson for all of us to never give up just try and try again till you to succeed.

  13. Today we dont really think about who invented the things we use daily. For example how many of us thought that Albert Einstein was the creator of the alarm clock, tv, and remotes. While inventing these things he opened up a wide range of study on other things to be later invented. Thomas Edison was another great scientist who introduced us to things that later led to other ones. Both Albert and Thomas were both amazing scientist and without them we probably wouldnt have the technology we have today.

  14. Centuries later, we still automatically think of Albert Einstein when we hear the word scientist. This man has made a HUGE impact on each and every one of our lives today whether we realize it or not. Through his hard work and determination throughout life, we can live our lives pretty easily with all of the conveniences we have. Because of all that he did for us, when we think of Einstein, we need to think of other words to describe him besides scientist such as genius and amazing!

  15. Albert Einstein (like many other scientists) was a misunderstood man for his time period. Many could not comprehend the magnitude of his accomplishments. He was so successful in his discoveries because he believed that there was a bigger picture. This man knew that we didn't always have to live the way the people of his time lived. If he had not dedicated his life to helping the future generations, we would all be lost with stinking breath. Without a GPS we wouldn't be able to take those long vacations that we ever so desire. My personal favorite would have to be the cell phone. Without it I wouldn't be able to text my mom during the day to tell her that I forgot my gym clothes. Just like Thomas Edison he showed me how we must go through life with a "trial and error" mindset. If Einstein had gotten everything right the first time he wouldn't have learned anything. It is only through trial and error that we are able to theorize and achieve a goal. I truly thank Einstein for inspiring me and reminding me that I can change the world if I only have the power to believe.

  16. I had absolutely no idea that Albert Einstein is the reason for us getting ready in the morning, let alone just getting up. Without him and his inventions, everybody would have horrible breaths. Yuck. If he had never been born or never had been a scientist, things would be so different even now. To other scientists I hope that he is an inspiration to help us move forward and live in even better ways.

  17. You have to respect Einstien and Edison even when they failed they saw it as sucess. " I haven't failed 10,000 time I just found 10,000 ways that won't work" ( Tomas Edison). Because of this determination we have toothpaste, TVs alarm clock, the multi-tasking cell phones and life saving smoke alarms. You should not give up so easily just when you failed once or twice like einstien you should keep improve and trying no matter what

  18. Both Einstein and Edison were some very intelligent scientists. I don't believe that the two get enough recognition as they should. Einstein created many things that we use daily and we don't even know it. If it was not for Einstein we may not have computers today, if so not in the same form. Though it's hard to say if Albert would be noticed more today than in 1905. Would he be recognized as the world's smartest scientist or would he be overlooked? That's tough to prove because today he may not look as smart because of the loads of today's tecnology. If he was alive now I don't think that he'll get overlooked if he got his work to the correct person. Many things that Albert invented, we use every single day. A lot of people today get awaken in the morning by a loud alarm clock. That is only one out of many that get used in a 24 hour day. Einstein was like Edison becauase he tried things that did not work, but still worked 'til he succeeded.
